Permacolour Deco Crete is a cost effective, slow drying, coloured texturing and shaping system for the artistic creation of a variety of finishes, to stimulate rock, stone, brickwork etc. and can also be carved into three dimensional designs on buildings and landscape settings.
One type only, but can be used in conjunction with Release Agent or Chemical Stain in contrasting colours to highlight, enhance colour or texture and create natural looking rock, stone and carved designs.
Apply Permacolour Deco Crete in the method required to achieve the required effect; all in accordance with the manufacturers instructions.
For internal and external use.
Good, clean masonry and fibrous cement surfaces
primed and/ or painted Gib board.
All surfaces must be clean, hard and free from all loosely adhering particles and contaminants such as dirt, oil, dust etc. Previously treated or painted surfaces must be prepared by applying a brush-on key coat, comprising of 1 part activator, 1 part water and sufficient Deco Crete powder to produce a brush-able slurry. This preparation coat to be left overnight to dry.
Do not apply when rain or freezing conditions are expected within 8 hours of the application. Optimum temperature is between 5 degrees and 30 degrees. Hot, dry, windy conditions can result in premature drying, resulting in reduced workability time.
Mixing Use clean water only to bring the material to a stiff paste with little or no slump. Allow to stand for 3 minutes and remix for a further minute.
Application techniques are numerous and may include:
Apply the mixed Deco Crete firmly with a steel trowel as a first coat. Further thickening applications can be done where required. Dab with a paint brush or sponge to shape. Latex texture mats can be used in conjunction with coloured release agents to imprint the surface. When the material has reacted a biscuit-hard state, cut back, shape or carve using a sharp pointing trowel or spatula. Use carving tools to cutback and shape when doing three dimensional patterns and designs.
When application is to horizontal surfaces, cure by wetting with clean water on the day following the application to ensure hardness and durability. If coloured Release Agent has been used, the surface must be washed down after 72 hours.
All surfaces to be clean and dry at time of sealing. Sealer choice is dependent on the desired finish but generally use Permacolour Stone Sheen for internal surfaces and Permacolour Concrete Sealer externally.
20kg of Deco Crete will cover approx. 2m2 at 4mm thick.
